True Confession

First off, for those of you who are here to see pictures of my kids...here.  The rest of the post is just kind of random blathering:)  (the Levi picture is courtesy of Niles. Good work, Niles:)

this one is Sawyer with his beloved, Frank.  Which inexplicably morphs into a baby leopard at times (according to Sawyer)

I think I'm changing (some might call it getting old:)  I never was very talented at making things, I have an aversion to paying close attention to detail, which makes things look sloppy.  I found my zen though.  I used to think scrapbooking was laughable, silly and a waste of time (sorry scrappy friends, it's true).  Now, I love it, it's a creative release for me and fuels my passion for a couple of things:

taking pictures

and

shopping

I have always loved paper.  In fact, I have been known to have 10-15 post it note pads sitting on/in my  desk because the patterns were so cute.  I envied scrapbookers a little because they got to play with all of that cute paper.  Even just the office supply section at a store has always seemed a little like an amusement park to me.

I'm not ever going to be one of those jaw-dropping designers (for those who don't scrapbook, yes, those do exist).  I do it for me and my family.

and now, I'm getting ready  to start a new venture in craftiness and I'm so excited about it.  Ash just learned to knit and she's going to teach me.  I know I won't win any awards in my local 4-H contest (I think I'd have to enter one to win), but just the idea that I might be able to create something that has the possibility to be both cute and functional makes my belly do a little flip-flop.  And the thought that I'll have something to do during yet another "act-ti-on" (fletch's pronunciation) movie just about brings tears to my eyes:)

So there you have it, I taking it back to the old school...the next thing you know, I'll have a flock (they are in flocks, right?) of sheep to spin my own yarn.   Hey, that just might keep my kids busy too.

I'm jealous. I want to learn to knit. Now, at our next "crop," you can help Greta teach me! You're welcome!

I can't wait to see Levi in a cute little hand-knit hat....and maybe you could make little matching leg-warmers, too!

Just warning you...knitting is addicting. Or maybe it's the buying of yarn and needles. Okay, both are true. When you're ready, I can steer you in the direction of a ton of free patterns.

I can't wait to see what you make! :)
